main reason would be cost we have more than 10 cats
It’s maybe a bit easier to have a regular litter box. I have an automatic one and you have to clean them thoroughly. It’s not really set it and forget it. One or twice a month you will need to wash it well. Which is easier with a regular litter box. It takes me around 40 minutes to fish out all the stuck litter, soak it and wipe it.
