Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Variety Pack Grain-Free Cat Food Packets Feature – Floppycats

Chewy.com sent us the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen variety pack to try out.
This video is a little lengthy, but I know cat owners like to see the inside of a pouch – especially those with finicky eaters.

As many of you know, we are Chewy Influencers – which means we are a part of the Chewy.com pet influencer program. Every month an email is sent out to us, asking us if we want to feature a certain list of items – the items range from cat and dog food to things for reptiles. There are usually only 3-4 cat items. One of the items this month was the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Variety Pack.

I feed my cats Weruva Cats in the Kitchen pouches – 4 flavors, in particular, so I decided to choose those and feature them here.

I am not a cat nutritionist.  Because of that, I do not think it is fair for me to “review” a cat food.  However, I am OK featuring one that I feed to my cats, so that other people can make the decision as to whether or not they think their cats might like it and if it works for them and their household.  You can read about what I feed my cats here.

If I had it my way, Charlie and Trigg would eat whole prey.  However, my efforts to encourage them to eat that failed.  And my efforts to feed them a strictly wet food diet have also failed – Charlie gets 2 tablespoons of dry food a day and Chiggy gets about 1/2 tablespoon right now (this might change in the future where I get them off of dry food again).  Although it is not ideal, neither is my diet.  I have to be realistic and feed what my cats will eat and what I can deal with given our life, etc.  They eat 85-90% wet food only, but there is some dry food in their diet, so that they will eat the wet food.  I still do not in general support dry food – I can’t in good consciousness – however, it did save Charlie was really going downhill with weight loss (re-introducing a small amount of dry food helped his appetite to want to eat more of the wet food I was offering).

I do know there is controversy behind Weruva being one of the best wet foods on the market because of the fish they use, the fact that the product is manufactured in a human grade USDA certified facility in Thailand as well as the vitamin K they choose to use – if a reader reading this knows of another reason, please list it in the comments below.

My cats really like Weruva and won’t always eat the canned cat foods I would prefer for them to eat. So, I compromise with Weruva – but it’s not the only brand of cat food that they eat.

The variety pack has all 6 flavors of the pouches:

Green – Chick Magnet
Purple – Love Me Tender
Red – Mack, Jack and Sam
Orange – Pumpkin Jack Splash
Yellow – Pumpkin Lickin’ Chicken
Blue – 1 If by Land, 2 if by the Sea

My cats like the green, blue, purple and red packs.  But, I went ahead and made a video that shows each food – what it looks like when you get it from the packet.  The video is a little lengthy, but I know cat owners like to see the inside of a pouch – especially those with finicky eaters.  Hope it’s helpful =).

We received the Weruva Cats in the Kitchen Variety Pack Grain-Free Canned Cat Food pouches for review from Chewy.com.  Receiving the free product and the review fee did not influence this honest post.

  1. Are they still eating this after 3 years? Healthy and alive? I just bought two of these pouches today. Two of my cats ate most of it which rarely happens. I have 20 cats. I bought the chicken soup can as well and others seem to have liked it. The two pouches I just gave it to two cats. The can I shared it with different cats. So far I guess it could be their new brand? Still not sure. I just want them to eat it all!! Be healthy. I had them on fancy feast cans. Rarely ate it all. Have to throw it away most of the time. They like the fancy feast broth pouches though. And friskies lil soups, lil gravies and slurprises. They all love and prefer gravy. The more chunky meat kinds they leave the meat behind. Pate isn’t much of a hit with all of them either. I’m literally going nuts with reading and watching reviews on these wet foods. This website recommends it others don’t etc etc. I also prefer to be able to buy it in a store. Fancy feast was great because I go to Walmart a lot. But if they won’t eat it then why bother. Petco is fine with me.

  2. Have your Sweeties try Feline Natural? I’m trying to find Better food for my Peanut. It’s hard though because I feel that being a Senior, I feel that his Taste has Changed. He is a Fussy cat.

  3. My Cat is a Finicky one. I try to give him Good food . But It’s not easy he tried Tiki, Weruva , Made by Nacho . I don’t want to change his food too much.

  4. I recently added Weruva to my cats’ rotation. Weruva is much lower in calcium, phosphorus and sodium than other brands. Some flavors, and the Wx Phos Focused line, are lower than Hill’s. And much less expensive. The Paw Lickin Chicken comes in 10 oz. cans, so is not that expensive to use.

  5. Hello , How are you and your Sweety? My Cat is not liking Wet food . Ever since I adopted my cat from the Animal Shelter, he hasnt eaten Wet food. Cats Should be eating Wet food because they’re Carnivores. Some people think that Cats can eat dry all the time.
